So, what have we been up to lately? We thought it might be a good idea to build a video card.
Not buy a video card online, wait for it to arrive, and install it, mind you - but build an embedded video card for some of our headless Linux dev boards (and a couple PogoPlugs - which are ~$15 nowadays). Follow along, if you're so inclined, at Hackaday's new Project logging site.

Our personal philosophy is to stick to cash back as much as we can, as well - although we do partake in the occasional gift card optimization.
- Len Penzo had an epic cereal taste test with a scientifically sound panel of children and a dog.
- Jason Hull had a nice piece on the emotional (and human side) of being a landlord - including dealing with a family which occupied a house for four years(!) rent free, which a mother who had "write of possession" at the tip of her tongue as soon as the jig was up.
- There was a minor controversy Nelson at Financial Uproar dug up about Mitt Romney's success at Bain Capital - namely, that investment returns "weren't so hot and generally tracked the market". Well, yeah - but beat it, handily, perhaps by upwards of 10%. If you can even beat the market by 1% over a career, you will become unimaginably wealthy... even matching the market with a large enough savings rate will do it. Any outperformance, folks, is huge.
- At Cashville Skyline - calculating a bare bones budget. This is something I haven't done so much as waved at categories and said "meh, this could be cut if needed". A good reminder to, you know, do it...
